It is with deep sadness the Board of Directors is announcing Field of Dreams Horse Rescue & Adoption will be closing our doors.

The Board did not come to this decision easily. There are significant factors which have negatively impacted our ability to effectively serve the local horse community. First, the past few years have proven exceptionally difficult to consistently and confidently raise the funds needed to grow our business and advance our mission. This same environment has also made it difficult to meet the requirements needed to successfully staff and run our horse rescue operation. As a result, the Board concluded the long-term sustainability of Field of Dreams is no longer achievable.

Our focus has always been horse welfare and we are extremely proud of the work we have done together over the past 17 years to rescue, rehabilitate and find forever homes for horses in need. At this time, our primary focus is finding homes for the three rescue horses currently in our care. We have also engaged a law firm to ensure the critical tasks of corporate dissolution and asset distribution meet the standards of the Internal Revenue Service Code and applicable state laws. We anticipate this process will take the next few months.

Regardless of the challenges of the past few years, we are extremely grateful to you, our generous donors, volunteers and supporters. You have provided the means for Field of Dreams to fulfill our mission of helping put an end to the unwanted horse population that exists within the community.

We understand that for those of you who have grown to love Field of Dreams as much as we do, this is extremely sad news. However, we hope you find comfort in having made a difference in the lives of so many beautiful equines.

We have met many wonderful people along the way and are confident the bonds formed on this journey will remain with us forever. On behalf of the Field of Dreams Board of Directors and the horses we have been honored to care for, we thank you.
